| Classic Medical To Market the EQUS Equine Bone Assessment Device |
Somerset, New Jersey (March 3, 2003) Sunlight Medical announced today an
agreement with Classic Medical Supply for distribution of its Sunlight EQUS, an
innovative equine bone assessment device introduced to the US market in mid-2002.
"We are looking forward to fruitful cooperation with Classic Medical," said David Helowicz,
National Sales Manager of Sunlight Medical Inc. "Its extensive experience in the field of
veterinary medicine and its emphasis on support and education will encourage quick
acceptance of the device among veterinarians and horse trainers." Steve DuMond,
Classic Medical's President, is also enthusiastic about the new venture. "The
convenience of one-stop shopping for ultrasound medical devices for veterinary use
is an important advantage for customers," he explained.
Sunlight EQUS, used to track bone strength for racehorses, has already proved to be a
valuable aid for veterinarians and trainers. Generally, racehorses sustain fractures and
other injuries at a very high rate during training and racing. Such injuries take them off
the racetrack temporarily, while they heal, or even permanently. Bone strength results
provided by the device improve the ability of horse trainers to set training and nutrition
schedules that can help keep horses injury-free.
Assessing bone strength with the device, based on Sunlight's widely used ultrasound bone
assessment technology for human patients, is radiation-free, simple, and convenient. The
proprietary technology used by the device permits high precision of measurement, enabling
bone strength monitoring. Results are clinically proven to indicate bone strength and risk
of injury among racehorses.
Sunlight Medical, an international company with offices in the United States, Germany,
China, and Israel, markets its medical products in over 30 countries. Its high-tech medical
devices are used in primary care facilities and hospitals around the world.
Classic Medical Supply, Inc. has offered high quality diagnostic veterinary ultrasound
systems since 1985, along with imaging supplies and animal ultrasound therapy systems for
the veterinary/animal science marketplace.
