| Sunlight expands into the German market Through a Strategic Partnership |
|
Pensberg, Germany (June 1, 1999) Sunlight Ultrasound Technologies, developer
and manufacturer of the Sunlight OmnisenseTM bone sonometer, today announced the
opening of a new subsidiary office in Germany.
"The German medical market is one of the key markets in Europe, with a large and
active primary care segment," said Mr. Gal Almog, Sunlight's Executive Vice President for Sales
& Marketing. "The new office will be targeting the growing osteoporosis market
segment."
The Sunlight sales operation in Germany is based on a strategic partnership with
Sonoring GmbH, a highly successful distribution organization comprising 10 of the
top dealers in Germany. The partnership focuses on sales in the ultrasound technology and primary
care market.
Sonoring will be selling the Omnisense device throughout Germany. The Sonoring
organization supports 17 show rooms (Sonotech) and is currently selling brand names
such as Toshiba, Siemens, and GE. Sonoring chose the Sunlight OmnisenseTM over
several competing products. The Sunlight office will be assisting the Sonoring team in
the areas of marketing, sales, and customer support.
"I am excited with our partnership with Sunlight," said Mr. Reiner Schmidt
Haverkamp, one of Sonoring’s leading members, who is based in Pensberg. "I see
great potential for the Omnisense in Germany. We believe that the Omnisense is the
best product of its kind, and that the Sonoring Group is best positioned to sell it in
Germany."
"With Sonoring as our partner, we have a winning combination to be a market leader
in Germany for osteoporosis diagnosis," said Mr. Almog. "I am confident that we have
both the technology and the distribution channel to succeed in this market," he added.
The Sunlight OmnisenseTM is a one-of-a-kind ultrasound device that measures bone
strength at multiple skeletal sites, enabling unprecedented accuracy and precision in
the prediction of fracture risk. In addition, the device is compact, cost-effective, user-
and patient-friendly and is easily installed in primary care facilities.
